In 2003, a local community organization, the Watershed Association Development Enterprises (WADE) leased a portion of the AHI’s property for an office building.  The Bauld Annex office offered employment services to African Nova Scotian residents of East and North Preston, Cherry Brook/Lake Loon and the Dartmouth area.

Funding to the WADE organization was cut as a result of government redesign in 2016.  In Dec. 2018, the WADE building was acquired by Akoma Holdings and renamed to the Bauld Annex. The Annex is now office to The African Nova Scotian Decade for People of African Descent (ANSDPAD), The Descendants of African Americans Enslaved Living in Nova Scotia and the The East Preston Empowerment Academy (EPEA).
